Firstly I am quite happy but kind of you to keep telling me to cheer up. :-)
As to the Covidity sell off, although it might have been the Company's stated strategy, I think the best case would have been against a backdrop of showing that Covidity was going to be a world beater which due to the vagaries of the SA trial has not been shown to be the case. That said it is not going to be taken forward by Scancell and so is hoped to be sold on. Since this is not being sold from the World beating basis and although we can say that it doesn't actually harm anyone there's a bit of a difference from the way it has been presented on this BB as being the answer to all things Covid. There's no clamour so far (or seemingly Big Pharma queuing up to hold an auction) so to many holders here today's RNS will have been a disappointment.
That said, it's just another ratchet down of the hype we've read for every Scancell Platform for years, and it is a recurring feature of the Scancell story.
If I question where the blame lies for over promising and under delivering I can't hold Scancell to task for it, because they never have done that. It's always been done for them and today's RNS is another case in point.
Why hasn't the SP shot up to 26p as Wild asked? In my view because Scancell didn't over promise, the BB did (maybe matching what the Market thought - and continues potentially to do so).
Viz From earlier today
"....may I suggest any one of the top 5 covid vaccine players can not afford to overlook a covid vaccine of this calibre /
they all understand the benefits of the oncology platforms
so maybe Biontech cant afford Scancell ?
the race is open because Covidity knocks the ball out of the park ?
interesting times"
Let's hope we can get something significant for Covidity, but it's not really got the sizzle of a world beater on the results so far, has it? The trial reported never was meant to show that anyway. if it was felt to be practical to collect the data to move out of the basic safety area perhaps that could be achieved but we're not going to do that are we?
Hence IMO that's the reason the market perceived Scancell shares to have been worth more a few trading days ago than it is now.
Another assessment from this BB in December last year,
"so if covidity results are positive and the suggested partnership arrives this will provide a rather nice boost to the SP. For me a key finding will be the side effects. So many are complaining of being knocked by the recent booster. Of course the hope is that Covidity will enable the world to be ahead of the virus and not behind the curve as we currently are. Lets just say the china crisis could be rather good timing for the sentiment for our SP. Of course this brings 2 benefits. Hopefully some cash to fund our vaccine development and AVidimab and our a higher SP for the launchpad as moditope develops."
We've still got some more data to wait for from other platforms so hopefully that might help
