Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
From past experience the government tend to say one thing and do another. I wouldn't be surprised if they made a deal for cheap tests from another company because one of their conservative mates are a part of it. Their "fast tests" could even refer to a lab based one with a quicker turnaround/processing time. Who knows when trying to reading in between the lines. Lets hope you're right.
As far as I can recall Colin mentioned Mologic would be a Xmas present where the transfer and all the trimmings were completed. It's interesting what the Welsh Gov said because in theory POC tests for care homes would either need MHRA approval for the non medical care home staff to carry out the test or if no MHRA approval, a healthcare care professional eg a nurse which most care homes do not have.
Having these types of discussions/debates adds knowledge and expands the thinking. I am still a ODX holder no matter how skeptical I may appear. I'm far from a ramper or a deramper.
To me it appears that Boris was talking about antigen testing. I still believe the UK isn't ready for antibody testing at this moment in time and its implications. ODX will hopefully get Mologic antigen test at the end of the year however as the gov is mentioning tests in the new few weeks, I believe it will be another market player who can produce the huge volumes needed to test towns/cities.
Out of curiosity, has there been any figures released for the sensitivity / specificity of the Mologic antigen LFT? (swab or saliva). If they were testing in Heathrow and drive through centres there must be some good numbers associated with it.
Nice one for making the top 3 recommended on LSE!
@robort you're much quicker than me in posting lol. Keep it up!
Can be sold outside the UK if the government does not take up the full capacity. Lots of interest from non UK countries and there is a waiting list for this as its UK Gov backed
Looking for FDA approval with a tap into their market end of this year, early next year.
Thank you MB.
I have always been of the impression that the world isn't ready for antibody testing and its significance. ..yet. ODX will be ready for when it is. I hope the antigen test is ready sooner as that would be an instant hit despite the challenges with saliva testing.
Hey MB,
I wanted to get your and anyone elses thoughts about sales. Of course the gov have got the consortium sales for the ABC test under lock down (excuse the pun) However this shouldn't have affect the visitect antibody tests. Any thoughts as to why these sales (or lack of) have stayed relatively silent?
The gov have always been calling the shots. In my opinion it is hampering the growth of ODX with the ABC Ab test and we would be much better off with regards to the SP. I bet its the same with releasing MRHA updates as well as further orders of the ABC test as the gov does not want them to sell elsewhere at much greater profits.
Remember not so recently It's only when the gov released the info about the £1million order is when ODX put out a RNS.
@Aberdeenman to further add to your comment in comparison to the last RNS I noted that:
1) The presentation is bang on when the markets closes. Could it be price sensitive information?
2) There is no mention that price sensitive information will NOT be discussed.
The plot thickens..
I'm not sure if this link is loading properly on my phone but it says the article was published mid July. Interesting to see how they got this information before any of our media nor the LSE / Twitterati got a hands on it. I'm just taking it with a pinch of salt as nearly 3 months on lots has changed.
@Hypermarlin: Thought I'd help Lynthip by parting some knowledge. Let's see if it helped. If not, I tried!
No this is not the flu. The flu is from the influenza family of viruses and the coronavirus is NOT the flu and is NOT from the same virus classification.
People that became infected and recovered from the coronavirus are in theory immune. However viruses are clever and they mutate to a slightly different variation of the initial virus. This is why a reinfection can give milder symptoms as the immune system is already primed.
Having had the coronavirus does not mean you instantly develop herd immunity. That's called immunity. To get herd immunity you need enough people to have contracted the virus to then prevent the spread. Clearly the first wave did not affect enough people to develop herd immunity therefore a second wave occurs.
lynthip help me understand what you are trying to say as I am a bit confused.
1) Are you talking about flu as in the influenza herd immunity since last November?
2) You think there is no 2nd wave and you think the coronavirus is the new name for the flu?
"The dispute was to take place in court. It would have meant a public check on the accuracy and speed of the test system, at a time when it has come under serious criticism.
But the government decided to settle the case and will pay Diagnostics AI and most of the legal fees."
If they entered a legal battle, imagine what would have been discovered. Easier to pay them off and keeps everyone quiet. Cover up at its best.
News has reached the daily fail. Not long till it hits the national news and then global news. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8811725/amp/UK-buys-million-DIY-coronavirus-antibody-tests-produce-results-just-20-MINUTES.html?ito=amp_twitter_share-top&__twitter_impression=true
As from Colin's presentation. UK gov orders = the world is our oyster as orders from everywhere will come flying in. Brace yourself Rodney!
Also just be mindful that there is no exclusivity for Mologic to transfer the Antigen LFT rights to ODX. It's anyone's game.
CK is waiting for the government order as this will give it the " stamp of approval" and free publicity to sell it worldwide. Probably that's why he is so patient waiting for them to make their move. In that time I'm just worried about the non inferior products getting an edge in the interim.
