Have a look at where those 3 drill holes are in relation to the ground gravity anomaly from the original historic survey that is available on the GGP website. They actually don't look to be such a stretch when you see where they are situated on this diagram.

Strudel - there's no doubt they will be extending the step-out / infill drilling up along the arms of the 'horse-shoe' as they go. They will want to intersect both arms of it as they drill along the NE/SW direction so I guess they will be trying to anticipate the direction and position of the 'arms' before they try to infill too much.

See where those 3 holes that were discussed yesterday are in relation to the existing 'horse-shoe' of mineralisation.

Stands a good chance that they are probing for the other side of the dome which would complete the 'anticline' feature.

@ghandi - the big cluster to the NW is where the field camp is located.

The intense area in the centre id the site compound - some of the bright spots are more intense than the others, I think that's where the rigs are.

You can count 9 'brightly' lit spots - IMO.

Not sure about the one on the Northern sand-dune, might just be a vehicle moving between drill sites.

I've had a play with the filters on the night-time image and they stand out really well in black n' white if you use these settings.

I've overlaid the night image with the last clear day image and it's clear there are two more drill sites that we couldn't see on yesterday's day image as they were obscured by the cloud cover, and both are probing to the West / North West direction so all looking good IMO.

The middle one looks to be the last of the three OK. It is on a patch that they had already cleared ready for the drill-pad but as you say if the others had found nothing they it's very unlikely that they would continue to drill the 3rd one.

Hi CB - I wasn't expecting to be able to see anything at Havieron today at all TBF.

Agreed about there being another drill pad in the NW in that line of 3 - we'd already seen the ground prepared in that position bit good to see an actual sump pad appearing there.

There also is another sump pad appearing in the SW cluster but over towards the West of that cluster so consistent with the 'growing' phase - NCM must be sick of putting all these holes in the ground and finding nothing lol :-)))

Here is an image of the positions of the 6 historic NCM holes in relation to the current results from the last drilling report.

You can see why HAC9101, 9201 & 9502 got the best results - If they had drilled another couple of hundred metres back then they would have got into the sulphide zone - thankfully for us that didn't happen.

I have included the historical holes in the corebox 3D model but they were shallow holes that didn't really get into the higher grade ore. The intercepts that I used were as follows.

HAC9101 - Depth 533 metres - (30.6m from 438.8 @1 g/t & 0.28% Cu including 2m @ 7.1 g/t & 1.5m @5.3 g/t)
HAC9201 - Depth 528 metres - (28m from 420 @1.05 g/t including 2m @ 9.4 g/t)
HAC9501 - Depth 558 metres - no significant intercepts
HAC9502 - Depth 597 metres - (131.5m from 466m @ 0.15 g/t)
HAC9503 - Depth 591 metres - no significant intercepts
HAC0301 - Depth 717.9 metres - no significant intercepts

All the holes found intense alteration and evident of mineralisation but thankfully missed the main payload otherwise NCM probably would never had relinquished the land.

HAC9503 is the most interesting one as it was drilled in the NW region towards where our 'growing' phase is headed. It was drilled to the NW away from the centre of the existing 'horse-shoe'. It didn't intersect any significant intervals but had alteration present like the other holes so hopefully when the new holes continue to depth they will continue to find decent grades down there also.

100% agree schlemiel and with the trials of the undercutless block caving methods underway at Cadia now also where NCM are hoping for a 30% reduction in both time and cost to develop the cave infrastructure then the automated mining set-up would contemplate this extremely well.

If the high grade stoping concept study is successful it would take some of the time pressure off Newcrest as they would have a longer time to implement the block cave whilst they were processing the high grade.

I must say, I'm looking forward to seeing the content of the concept studies when they are released.

I work in automation with robotics (mostly automotive plants) and if it's possible then I'm sure this will be the way they will go.

I don't agree with Mickey's 'yawn' comment - anything that reduces the AISC of the project will have a material effect on the NPV and therefore on the value of Havieron to us in the long run.
