RE: BMN PR10 Nov 2018 18:52
Hi CC,
If BMN goes to £2 by end of 2019 I will still own £200,000 worth of shares in them, meaning a portfolio of £2M held in SIPPs and ISAs. If a few other investments work out as well I may have closer to £2.5M. I am still 5 years away from my planned retirement (currently running my own business and loving it so no desire to retire even though I could).
I would hate it to happen but if the SA government went into melt down BMN could be hurt by it. My approach is a risk management one yet it led to a 100% year on year return. If I had kept my original 500,000 ‘punt’ BMN shares that cost me circa £20,000 2 years or so ago then today I would have more money, I get that, but hindsight is a wonderful thing..
I now only own 200,000 shares in BMN, about 8% of my portfolio, and I am also building positions in other potentially lucrative investments..
Like I have always said, I feel blessed to have enjoyed part of this journey and hold no envy about those who have made life changing sums.. I have other potential investments that could do a BMN as well..
10% is my maximum not the norm by the way :-)
