This could go on for weeks or months until the IOCs are bust. It's all politics. Two days ago I sold half my holding at quite a loss, thinking at least I salvaged something from the potential wreck. Inevitably that's wrong, I should have sold all or none. The good thing is that now the price is bound to move up :}
ii paid the ISA in £, they say ISAs can only accept £. I don't know whether DEC paid ii in $ or whether ii just decided to credit $ off their own bat. I've asked them... Perhaps this is another 'improvement' that goes with their crap new website.
I've always received DEC divis in £, but the latest divi in my trading account at ii has been credited in $ which is a pain. They say it's because the company pays in $. Anyone else been credited $ ??
Other banks are falling, there is bound to be read-across affecting MTRO in the short term. The good news is that further rate rises will happen, and will further improve profitability.
Hardly ever post here... life too short and mostly I'm on Lemon Fool... but this is my largest holding and I not happy that they are once more diluting shareholders, and without warning. Through ii, didn't even get the chance to participate the window was so short... not that I would have as I'm already fat. I think this has been badly handled, I thought we'd seen the end of this dilution. I will be reducing when the SP allows. Unfortunately I topped up quite a lot in the mid 120s when it seemed we had moved into a new price band so I'm here for a while... huh.
AGM coming up on May 10th. If you can't pop over to Guernsey in person, hopefully your broker allows you to vote, so you have a chance to express your opinion of the way this company is going. Final results to 31.12 here https://investegate.co.uk/Article.aspx?id=202203310700086791G&tab=article More staff, reduced revenue but reduced loss, increase in bad debt provision from 7% to 15%, increase in credit facility and a continuing reliance on ZDPs where the Co's First Loss exposure is increasing. A lot of positive noises... they even mention the faint possibility of another Rights Issue.. Given that my holding is not even worth peanuts I'll hang on.
No, I don't believe the divi is safe.
If you're investing for income, look at the HYP Practical Board of The Motley Fool, where you will find much good info on the subject of putting together a portfolio of high income shares.
Centrica have done the deal with British Energy, so perhaps now they'll walk away from VPC. On the other hand it's said that the BE deal was cheaper than they expected, so perhaps they still have money in the kitty for VPC ?
Firm placing of 75mio shares at 100p today, start trading later this month (22 April, I think).
You need to bail out before then, and buy back in afterwards, otherwise you'll be diluted.
