George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
When we had only 7 or so posts on here this morning we already had 2 people who could account for a minimum of 5 people skipping the cinema because family etc have already watched it via streaming.
I asked my son to show me where people are getting these downloads from and on the site I can see three pages each with 20 up-loaders and each up-loader has a minimum of 50 people downloading and half of the up-loaders have over 1000 people downloading with the top three showing over 2000 downloading. Now please explain to me why piracy and streaming have no effect on cinema.
Comparing the like for like business of fast food is not the same as downloading a movie. Competition is how businesses work but where is the competition if your competitor is offering the same product you are trying to sell for free, or streaming it for the same price as one cinema ticket so an entire family and friends can watch it at home.
Take that Burger van and drop one like it outside every McDonalds on the planet and see what happens to their profits.
If only one person watches a movie via streaming then it stands to reason that streaming has had a potential -1 customer impact on the Cinema.
That’s the reality of releasing via streaming; I would have expected to pay around £100 for the four of us to go to thin cinema with snacks etc. If this is happening to my family then what’s happening everywhere else. It's almost like Disney have seen an opportunity to promote its own platform and kill off the Cinemas. If other studios follow Disney’s lead then what chance for the entire cinema world. I can’t think of any other reason for Disney to do this and its easy to see why Scarlett Johansson is suing them.
Its already being shared around on Phones and Pc thanks to Disney Plus rips. We need to get back to the three month gap from release to theaters to release to everything else. I planned on a Holiday treat for my kids but both of them had already seen it and we don’t even have Disney Plus :( My own family have become part of the problem where I am loosing money since buying in.
If it didn't keep dropping huge amounts on the bad news and only rise small amounts on the good news I would be a lot happier. This share is so undervalued that people think its the forgery of the share world.
The Motley Idiot is unreal; as you point out he changes his mind every few hours. Someone should get all his articles on RR in some sort of timeline to see how stupid and actually how harmful to the company he can be seeing as he's well read and newbie investors may well be put off by his advice.
Old thread which is all over the place or eluded too in many other posts but now I have some firsthand experience; my double vaccinated niece was diagnosed with Covid last week, she went through 3 days of flu like symptoms with some breathing difficulties during the middle of the week but she is now getting better and has told me that apart from the worry of the breathing difficulties getting worse, she had coped very well with what she described as really bad cold like symptoms. On the other side of the coin my sisters farther in law who was 71 caught Covid while unvaccinated and he basically suffocated to death in intensive care because his lungs filled with so much mucus that there was no room for oxygen.
Basically if you’re not vaccinated, please ignore the doubters and use a little common sense for both your own future and to protect your loved ones.
Don’t expect everyone else to do the right thing while sitting there with missed appointments, ignored texts, or emails and don’t talk people out of getting their vaccines based on your own fears. GET VACCINATED!
There are only two places to get news about RR which will help you to make an informed decision on buying and selling RR shares, unfortunately this or any other forum is not one of those places.
1. For good News use the RR press release portal as its written by the people that actually work for RR; this is where you will find the good news and long term predictions that show you the future and more importantly that RR is planing very far into the future.
https://www.rolls-royce.com/media/press-releases.aspx
2. The BBC news website this shows you all the negative news, the same as any other news website but it's less based on rumour and more fact checked.
As a new investor, coming into this chat room caused me more anxiety and sleepless nights than any other medium could ever inflict.
Some of the things that come up week after week and are all total BS.
1. RR will be Bankrupt.
2. RR are going to Fly tomorrow, pun intended.
3. Get ready for take off, pun intended.
4 Fasten your seat belts, pun intended.
5. At these prices I'm buying more.
6. I'm averaging down.
7 it's all Market manipulation.
8. Should I sell?
9. Should I buy?
10. RR will drop to 80. "this is always my favourite, people predict a 20 point drop but don't do anything about it, I mean If you truly believe it, then sell and buy back.".
11. Its Bad Management. "Another good one, totally ignoring a pandemic and the fact we are invested in air travel while it's grounded".
12. Its the government's fault.
13. Motley Fool quotes .
14. I didn't realise the share had been diluted before I invested my life's savings.
15. 12 years ago this share was at £17, How long do you think to get back?
16. People want to fly.
17. Should I buy now or wait for the price to drop more?
18. Green list comes out tomorrow.
19 New Varients of concern found.
20. Wish I'd d never invested in this share, I thought I would double my money.
Sorry for the rant but good luck everyone with actual money in the share, which I truly believe is only about 50% of you :)
To all those who sold yesterday and before.. :) thank you for giving away your shares to new blood and I'm sorry you feel so sick today but who knows you might be right tomorrow or the next day but either way I'm sure you do the same amount of share price checking as those that stayed in.
Deaths are way lower than would be expected even in a Flu epidemic. The vaccines are doing their jobs.
England Level 4 and India Level 3 ... Way to go USA this shows why China is kicking your ars* at everything.
Just look at Boeing , American Air, Delta, IAG, Spirit Etc. Etc. The list goes on . RR isn't in trouble but basically if a share has wings and isn't bird or insect related then its price is down and may well continue to go down. The difference with RR is that we don't need air travel to keep ticking over while the vaccines roll out and get everything back to normal.
The idiot distributors streaming new releases are killing cinemas. Everything they stream can be downloaded within an hour from many sites such as Pirate etc. I seen my kids friends watching Black Widow on their phones the day after it aired so what chance for cineworld, None!!!
RR is global but somehow everyone thinks its tied to Europe. It wasn't that long ago RR were talking about moving major parts of its business to to Asia and USA. Just wish all the chicken sh*ts would sell up and let the rest of us move on and make some money. Mind you looking at the price, that's just what they're doing :)
The share will drop 50% so that's its way under valued, then all the idiots jump out to find the next Apple or Tesla. Mean while the stock floats around for a couple of months getting bought up by the big boys at a rediculously low price and then suddenly Air America comes on line and all the new buyers make a fortune while the rest of us go back to the price we were at 3 weeks ago. Anyway that's normally what happens to me.
France, Javid catches it, Beta varient, Rising cases. Autumn lock downs... Can't the news focus on the positives ... Farne Islands see visitors return to see Puffins. That should push the price up a bit.
The only thing keeping this share down is investor stupidity. The UK government announces that it is removing all restrictions and that Covid case will rise but the link between Covid and death have all but being eradicated in vaccinated people. So how do we the investor respond to momentous news?
Every time the daily figures show Covid rising, we sell? But hang on a minute we have already being told this would happen.
Every time Europe announces restrictions, we sell? But the world is a massive place and lots of country’s are flying but still we sell?
Every time a new variant is announced, we sell, but isn’t Covid a virus? And don’t all viruses mutate?
RR fails to sell an asset and retenders for interest, so we sell our shares; isn’t this a regular occurrence in any business? I mean the asset is still valuable; people still want it, so what’s the problem?
RR as a company isn’t making the share perform poorly; it’s us over reacting to every negative and choosing to ignore every positive. If ever there was a group of people trying to throw their money out the window, then we as RR investors are that group. RR are not just about air travel; RR have enough work outside the air industry to keep them ticking over until the planes fly so why do we keep walking around with our placards shouting The End Is Nigh; only one reason I can think of, and that is that we have all become philanthropists and have decided to donate our money to the hedge funds who come along and see our littered sells as an opportunity to make big money from stupid people.
Oh dear ... Thats Fuc*ed it.

The difference between my 30k in x1 and your 10k in x3 is that I can sleep at night when I get a 5% drop. You must surely know the difference between leveraged and unleaveraged, you get enough warnings about them before you click the buy button. Anyway good luck to everyone and I hope you all make your x3x2x1
