Another day another load of talk about some movie or other riding over the hill and rescuing everyone that bought Cineworld at much higher prices than it sits at today..
To all those that said the price wouldn't drop on Monday after Johnson's call to Putin I would like to blow a nice raspberry to you all.
Where does the dumbness end in here?
1. Covid doesn't matter
2. Litigation doesn't matter.
3. Billions in debt doesn't matter .
4. Streaming doesn't matter.
5. War in Europe doesn't matter.
Think about the last one for a minute. A War In Europe won't effect Cineworld!!!! WTF?
Oh look, Batman's out soon, that matters ..
I must be a troll or shorter because I don't agree with anyone who wears rose tinted glasses all day long . Whatever comments come after this, let's just remember that I called it right on Friday, and bet £5k and a self exile on myself. So more raspberry's to all ..
Good luck to everyone in the Ukraine, apart from Russia and China everyone in the world is cheering for you.
Not so strange . I mean think about it .. it's far easier to predict a negative based on information received than to predict a positive on a wing and a prayer. For instance if you fall off your chair I predict you will get back up. This is a negative with a predictable outcome but if you get up off your chair in joy because Batman gets a good Rotten Tomatoes rating then who knows what might happen, the share price might go up or your baby oil mightht fall off your keyboard and electrocute your tiny baby sausage.
Unfortunately for all of us - Putin, Boris and Biden have just made sure that most shares see a nice big drop on Monday .
Hi Tom231 . I would be happy if I hadn't lost so much. I left the 5k but it's a tiny proportion of what I lost. I'm rebuilding in airlines and crypto but I'm on the fence on cinema because of the court case. I think air and cinema should rise hand in hand, but air has the added bonus of not having the Cineplex shadow to contend with.
Price will get so far but lots of people are in and desperate to get out....
But again I would get a different answer in the Cineplex chat forum . Would you bet your life on it ? No, none of us would or we would buy either share and make a lot of money.
Or Cineplex go for the jugular and get rid of a market competitor while still seeing enough cash to recover costs. All this armchair lawyer BS is really annoying and anyone can make a case for anything depending on where their money sits.
Hi RusClegg
Well in answer to your question, I'm watched my airlines rise and my crypto hold . The difference between my shares and Cineworld is that I don't need a 60% rise to see a profit. How many times has this happened to Cineworld before? up one day by 7% then down everyday for a month in steps totalling double figures . I doubt many are up now and I know I got out at a far higher price than this, so re-entry is always a possibility, but the share is just too precarious for me. Once the court case is settled, then it will look far more appealing to me. But in saying all that, I wish everyone luck with this, and let's all hope that COVID doesn't decide to drop another bombshell variant.
Did my screen just flash green for Cineworld? I am mean I caught it out of the corner of my eye, but I am currently on tranquillisers since joining this share, so I'm not 100% sure. My spreadsheet has now formed a tea cup pattern which clearly shows that the kettle will soon boil.
I feel no less pain than I did sitting here watching Cineworld. Since I started this attempted rescue of people caught in the same position as I was, XRP has risen 20% but obviously it will drop again on any bad news generated by Government interventions in Crypto or Sec courtroom disruptions . But at least I now have some hope . Cineworld won't ever see a weekend 20% rise not only because Cineworld shares don't trade at the weekend but also that all its investors money is being used to hold off its creditors. People who truly believe that cinema is a good investment in a pandemic-recession will one day look back as I did and think WTF was I thinking. It was so obvious that crowded venue's would close, movies would stop producing and people would look for entertainment from home; when you add in that Cineworld would try to back out of its vast iron contracted merger contract, thinking it wouldn't face consequences, then you have the perfect recepie for disaster and none of us here seen it coming. The price is going the right way for a gamble so no doubt I will return once I see what the courts decide.
Sure XRP is a gamble, I mean they are taking on the entire USA government and judicial system, but what do you think Cineworld is? It's a gamble with no real payoff except to get your money back ..Do you look at some sort of imaginary spread sheet and see debt free, high profits with no creditor's kicking in the doors, it was only a few months ago that they were forcing staff to buy the Pick N Mix to get some cash in the tills.... Spiderman couldn't save it's share price, and Batman doesn't have a chance against the jokers that have run this company into the ground. Hell it can't even be seen as a takeover opertunity anymore. Where does a company with more debt than equity go during a pandemic in a recession?
Funinvester. Everything you say is right and I do feel bitter short this share but it's all my own fault as I did little research and handt realised that the case against cineworld even existed in the Court systems. Now I come in here as an ex holder to warn people not to listen to sentiment, I too lost many thousands on this share and I held through thick and thin, coming in here to keep warm and hear good things about my share to give me hope but in the end I had to face reality and move onto pastures new. I've also had a hard time in XRP since moving from Cine, but I have one thing that I never had in Cineworld and that is hope .. if SEC win the case against XRP I will lose everything but I would rather have that than watch my money slowly drip away day on day, driven down by bad management and shorters bending me over. No one here will listen to me and nothing said here has any effect on the markets etc but hopefully someone in my position will read this and see that everything Cineworld is not all roses. Cineworld is all but bankrupt and only the massive size of its debt is keeping it alive. It just doesn't make sense to stay in this share.
Dear Timeshifted.
XRP will make good before Cineworld ever does . Why? because unlike Cineworld, XRP hasn't lost its case in the courts. Cineworld is DOA . And to all that think streaming isnt a problem because it never was before, then you are also living in the land of make-believe because streaming in a pandemic during a recession is far different from streaming in good times. Don't look at sentiment, look at facts . A company with this much debt will be in trouble for a very long time and a couple of block busters isn't going to save it. Stocks is all about backing potential and I see none in this share.
If I asked anyone here if they would invest in a cinema chain during a pandemic while a massive increase in online streaming was taking off, and then added in that Brexit was going to massively increase family shopping bills, would you invest?... AND what if I then added that the company had being sued for more money than its total value and had subsequently lost the case, then what would you say? But if I then said that all UK utility bills would double for family's, further tightening the family budget, would you still be interested in investing? .. Sounds crazy but this is exactly why we are all here patting each other on the back for our brilliance. None of us came in after all of these things happened but plenty of us came in as they happened. We are all stuck here with a stark choice; stay and pray or go and try to recoup losses somewhere else . I recently made the latter decision.
I feel this share is dead in the water, I've taken out what’s left of my investment and put it into XRP coin. If the SEC case settles then I will make back my 70% losses from Cineworld. Cineworld has so many problems that I felt I had to jump. Keep an eye on XRP and see if I made the right decision, I put in £27000 at a price of 0.74. Good Luck to everyone who stays. I'll be back in a few months to see if I did the right thing. Over and out.........................................................
This was news at 1pm UK time and it had no effect on American Air or RR . Fuel and Covid are dragging everything down at the moment.
Not good results, but lots on here looking for any port in a storm. Any more lock downs and this company is gone. Todays 8% rise is as close to a pump and dump as you will ever see. There is no reason to say this share is doing well with these dept ridden results. I'm still holding but I can't see my in of 110 coming back into view anytime soon. Should see 63 by close of play Friday.
This won't break 70 and will probably dip again. Has anyone on here actually read the report; because it's bad. Basically it's telling me that they need money and lots of it : Fast! Bums on seats down, streaming up, dept up and more borrowing needed. One more lock down and its a free share with every popcorn bucket.
It’s important to realise that while everyone plays Ping Pong with the share price, quietly in the background RR are making money and working towards a greener future for aviation.
