Now what's really interesting is that ITV reports its Q3 numbers on the 10th November but this year the company is also presenting a 'Commercial Investor Seminar' on the same day :-

Dame Carolyn did mention about the company holding two Autumn Seminars later this year with the second of the two being held on 9th December (The Studios Seminar) but holding the first one on the same day of the Q3 numbers ?

Looks like we could be in for a bumper day come 10th November !!

Good to see all the ITV bashers out in force this week, always a good sign. No doubt we'll get all the Friday numpty research posts tomorrow like clockwork from the so-called 'specialised investment companies' telling us all that ITV is a 'sell' and the chart is extremely bearish !!

Just reading through the statement and numbers and here's a snippet from an article published by Hargreaves Landsdown earlier :-

'We're encouraged to hear that existing subscribers are sticking with Netflix. But keeping customers engaged is only going to get harder. The group believes it competes not just with other streaming businesses, but with gaming, reading, and conventional TV for customer attention. It's a belief nicely illustrated by the fact engagement rose 14% during the recent Facebook/WhatsApp/Instagram outage. If true, the group needs a content catalogue that can compete with practically all entertainment out there. '

Hmmmm.........conventional TV, content catalogue ??

I mentioned a couple of weeks back about privacy issues and data security breaches on Facebook and the toxic nature that the platform now exudes, which has resulted in subscriptions being cancelled and companies now distancing themselves in droves from the media platform.

The subject was even addressed in PMQ's this lunchtime.

Well, Facebook are now in the process of 're-branding' the company, a bit similar to what Gerald Ratner did to his company when he called his Jewellery 'cr£p' back in the early nineties, which took an age to recover !!

This bodes well for ITV as it evolves into the digital landscape (at last !) and reclaims some of the advertising share it previously lost to Facebook. And to rub salt further into Facebook, once it completes its re-branding exercise it will need to advertise and where better to get exposure to the UK viewing audience.............??

And yesterday we saw a trade of 1,692,060 @ 103.41 coupled with the 186,333 ADRs last night.

We know all the big US banks continuously flout trade reporting rules so as i have said before, take all these websites at face value including that Short Tracker as well (No short positions declared in BT.....really ???????).

I last posted the link in the Summer when at the time there were 141 positions disclosed and here we are in October with the positions increased to 172 and the increased volume taking place in just one week in September and nothing since ?

182,000 ADRs on the board already this evening (7x average volume) but again hardly any price rise !

Don't sweat the small stuff mate and let the market (GS) do their thing and I will be in again for a few more before the numbers next month.

Morning Smalltrader, nice post all valid points and I think that everyone on here whom are actually invested in ITV have similar thoughts with regards to exactly what's going on.

Its worth just watching again the last few minutes of that interview with Dame Carolyn and Mark Read at WPP (see ITV website if you haven't watched it) and Dame Carolyn states that the team at ITV are overly excited with regards to the rebound in TV advertising whilst smiling like like a Cheshire Cat !!

So i very much doubt if she will use the 'Covid' caveat again come November especially as this year's Love Island alone is on course to deliver its biggest ever revenue for ITV some £100m !! Doubt if the Times and especially the Telegraph will take that one lying down !

Britbox continues to do well and we should hear subscriber numbers approaching 3m, with Britbox South Africa launched back in August. Not sure why there wasn't an official RNS announcement by ITV but as we have come to know by now Dame Carolyn isn't one for singing from the rooftops !!

In that interview I think Dame Carolyn mentioned about 56 production arms under the ITV umbrella, fingers crossed that the company can soak up some of the excess from ALL3Media !

Apologies for breaking the current thread but the interview with our CEO and Mark Read (CEO at WPP) has just been uploaded on the ITV website. Its just over 30mins long and very bullish in parts which is very much welcomed and believe it or not even Dame Carolyn has a smile on her face !

Just watching CNBC news and reading a few of the Wall street articles on-line and Facebook is getting an absolute hammering after last nights debacle. There is also talk of privacy issues and data security breaches and I mentioned last week about companies moving away from some of these platforms and back to traditional means of advertising.

Facebook received around $85billion in terms of ad revenue in 2020 , fingers crossed that some of that will now head ITV's way !!
