Mr. Chairman, the second area I will now move quickly to reach 10% growth is the natural gas and helium economy, I have already talked about this and the example I give here is Algeria, which is leading in Africa. Algeria has a GDP per capital of five thousand two hundred and sixty dollars due to gas issues, they export gas through a pipeline to Europe and then they export LNG.
Mr. Chairman, the third area is the agricultural economy. I have taken a country like Vietnam that was at war from 1955 to 1975, 20 years of war, today Vietnam this year produces 27 million tons of rice, Tanzania, which we have not entered into a 20-year war, we produce 2.5 million tons, the GDP of Vietnam that was at war is four thousand three hundred forty-six US Dollars per person per annum. We are one thousand two hundred eleven dollars per person per annum, so let's invest in agriculture.
Mr. Chairman, the fourth area is the mineral economy. I have already talked about this a lot, critical minerals and strategic minerals. The United States needs fifty species, the European Union thirty-four species, but to succeed here, we must enable the geological survey and invest here.
Mr. Chairman, the fifth area that will bring us to a 10% economy is the tourism economy. Here I have looked at tourists from foreign countries who came to Africa, foreign tourists not domestic. Egypt had 13.1 million tourists, South Africa 10.2 million, the third was Morocco, the fourth was Tunisia, the fifth was Kenya 5.6 million, and Tanzania was sixth, but if you take tourism in the sense of tourism, you take a leading country like France which itself last year had more than 100 billion tourists and the money it brought in was about 70 billion US Dollars and someone spent about 700 Dollars a day to go on a tour in France. (Applause)
Mr. Chairman, therefore, I think our intention here is to prepare ourselves from an economic growth of five or six percent to go to 10%. To get there, we must invest in those four areas: education and employment, and then secondly, we must invest in the gas and helium economy. Then we must invest in agriculture (agricultural businesses), we must invest in mining, we must invest in tourism. If we do that, our plan to reach an additional $4,500 by 2050 will be possible, thank you. (Applause)
