THG ipo company gets £800 mill cash
sbm sofina subscription and placing gives THG £800 cash at roughly 10x today's mcap around 14 months ago average timescale

Half of this money was spent on acquisitions a huge chunk has paid off debt the company had at ipo the rest has been spent on hundreds of millions in capex mainly fitting out warehouses with security automation etc

Now the company is worth less than all that investment even if thg overpaid it was way more overpaid by the ipo and placing 1.6 bill so surely that at least evens things out

However when it comes to a potential suspension due to more than 10% in private companies in the funds because they're selling listed assets to cover redemptions pretty sure that will wreck their reputation long term

Understand that view canary however if a company could buy back 10% of itself and put it in treasury or a staff incentive scheme for 1% of what it was worth 12 months ago that's serious acquisition growth if the thg believes it value is more than 250p

I think this is the only regulatory issue for Jupiter's merian and mid cap funds

With the fund dropping so much in value over the last 6 months it must of pushed the 10% limit on private companies holding to close so have to now sell starling to stay within limit along with redemption due to poor performance is double trouble for them perfect time to do a buyback
