Hang on we are just about to welcome in 2026 and yet Ai is still in the experimentation stage ??

All of a sudden there's a big question mark over Ai actually becomong mainstream, what happened to agentic ai featuring in many other interviews - couple of quotes from below link -

'particularly if artificial intelligence adoption moves beyond pilots and experimentation to full-scale deployment.'

“The big question for 2026 is whether we finally move from experimentation with AI to implementation at scale across industries,” Sorrell said. “If that happens, the industry will change faster than at any point in its history.”

Good summary from an investors perspective, if Ai is so valuable why don't they want to fund and own data centres ?

“The thing that I can’t quite square is the data center play. I look at a data center that’s $10 billion, right? First of all, there haven’t been any exits above, you know, $4 billion or $5 billion, you haven’t seen comps, so that worries me quite a bit,” he said.

“Then I see large technology companies, the largest companies on the planet, with $4 trillion market cap, saying, ‘I don’t want to own this asset. I don’t want to have this on my balance sheet.’ So I ask, Why? Why doesn’t the largest company in the world want to own its own asset?” De Leon said. “The AI business is everything for them today, for the large hyperscalers, and so they’re saying, ‘No, you build it, you finance it.’”

De Leon surmises that what is inside these data centers, the technology of artificial intelligence, will quickly become obsolete.

Agreed (S4,) I'm astonished at the U turn by Ai and related companies, Fermi is an interesting one altogether though, it listed on both the NASDAQ and London in October of this year with a staggering $15b valuation - as of today's share price it has lost just over 70% of its value..

I like the fact Softcat has a foot in the Linux camp as popularity is expanding here too, switched myself two years ago for desktop/laptop environments, easy to do and no bloatware or licensing issues.

I doubt if S4 would be making these hires if they didn't think it would add value, likewise those three joining surely its a positive career step for them too, what is their motivation ?

The hires seem to be very Google focused which for me is a huge positive, it demonstrates that the relationship is alive and well..
