To my mind King Street are the most likely contenders to mount a proper bid, this is backed up by daily regulatory releases showing not only their interest but broker Morgan Stanley & Co. acting on their behalf too.

Whilst King Street have declared a small holding we don't yet know (accurately) how much Morgan Stanley & Co. is holding on their behalf, something to watch out for with large UT trades.

We may also get further details on proposed separation timetable together with Premium listing leading up to AGM.

btw, has anyone been following Qube, declared a 0.51% short on Homeserve late March which started to attract bid interest, gradually increased until bid was confirmed at 1200p, close on double their original position.

That's a big loss given the size of bid.

I was just mulling over my earlier post to Cantona where the figure of 1% and 3% were mentioned, of course with THG being mostly overseas investors the figure is actually 5% notification threshold, so in practice there still could be a lot of sub 5% holders which will now pop up due to the rule 8 notices - does that make sense lol

Basically investors who are just below 5% currently whilst not currently known will have to disclose if above 1%.

OhhAhhCantona, as you say, once we have all of the notices in we can then work out remainder of free float, those with more than just a financial interest may leave it as late as possible to avoid showing their hand.

Banks such as Barclays and others are often referred to as prop traders, sometimes they fill orders for clients but in general trade their own 'proprietary' book, what you see in the rule 8 notice is their book.

At the moment there is still a fair gap between declared and shares in issue, I'll have tot up later this week.
