I'm surprised IR gave so much detail in that reply, isn't that the kind of thing that should have been an official public statement? Seems like people have been waiting for 6-9 months for more clarity on what separation will mean and when yet this email from IR seems to Anacott seems to be telling us!

When you buy shares the counter party is known to the other side, way too tempting for brokers and others to run you out.

I can share some real horror stories of friends stopped out at the lowest trade of the day only to see the price close flat.

Blackrock are still net long at 1.22% which they held while increasing short. Qube reduced fwiw

When you set this against the backdrop of the long positions its pennies in percentage terms.

Blackrock have the worst record track record when it comes to THG, just look at their trades recently long, short, long, short all losing big chunks of their investors capital.

But we know from rule 8's they are not really short at all, all we see is the short side of the trade.

Props just trying it on, no real volume - funds couldn't buy at anywhere near these levels imo.

Joking aside, not everyone has the same time frames, Balderton, Sofina have been supporters for years, Balderton since 2010 I believe, all this jumping around demanding management do this that and the other is misplaced imo, remember this is a management team with 18 years of successful growth !

Nice one Holy, those that added on that list recently did so during the bid period, price ranged from 130 - 165 so unlikely many are sellers at 70p,. Sorts might give it a nudge but the stock profile and perception has now changed with more in safe hands.

The bitcoin thing is indeed toxic as no one really knows how far it's woven into the current financial system, even level headed fund managers and got pulled in to the story, tide going out now though.

This has been pinging around in my mind as things do need to make sense, if not immediately then at some stage.

For a fund such as King Street to come waddling into the market making unsolicited bids doomed to failure is not creditable imo, reputation is everything in the city and track record is paramount when making tactical approaches

Whilst we do not yet know the full story there has to be more to it than we currently know, I suspect also the stock which has been purchased during the last four weeks has now been sold to King Streets New Wave fund which already holds a small amount of THG.

It could be they decided to take a position and threw in the bid as others of said to chance their arm, no cost as they were buying the stock anyway, only main difference is how much they paid for it.

The tone and general mood has changed for the better imo, this feels more like a board in control rather than the media led flim flam before.

Share holders are much more likely to be supportive having been consulted first especially those buying in after the approaches were announced, circ 130p + there's also the spectre of other bidders emerging which should help keep the shorts at bay too. Interesting times..

The Premium listing is arguably more important than anything. It can't be great for home moral with UK fund managers if you effectively prevent them from buying stock, that is just not good investor relations right there

I have a first hand experience of this working for a US based company listed on UK market, same thing when visiting fund managers, 'sorry, would really like to but can't'

Looking at all of the rule 8 notices, four weeks worth and not a single regular UK institution showed up.

What a crazy week, expected a drop today given King Streets selling but again we don't actually know how much was acquired, it would be great to see a TR1 Monday with one of the regulars taking up slack, perhaps Sofina?

Agree with Mando, multitude of factors at play, of particular concern is Bitcoin imo - absolute ton of cash tied up in crypto which has pulled many mainstream banks/institutions in, if they all cuddly wake up to the fact its essentially worthless it could ripple over into main markets.

Matt's brother seemed like a good egg, if he feels comfortable and able a few comments might help, cheers
