We are viewing an evolving situation, nothing is static - if the prospective bidder/s keep increasing their stakes via the market the price of course will respond accordingly.

Something to keep an eye on if they do, is concert party transactions, i.e if the bidder/s form an alliance (most likely imo) with existing holders it could invoke the 12 month price rule in which case the take out price would be a lot higher.

Sp, a few factors which may come into play with THG making it an easy target, first off the Standard listing, having no regular UK shareholder in your home market is always risky. Today's disclosure highlight this, Norges Bank are overseas, Griffiths is basically a hedge fund and Jupiter are special situations.

If this was an old skool market maker stock and not the hybrid SETSMM, it wouldn't attract the algo traders remaining a lot less volatile, instead we have numerous prop traders straddling the bid/offer pushing it up and down.

The algos are easy to read as they are being used by everyone so the patterns become predictable over time, this becomes a weakness. The DMA platform I use has similar algos when executing a trade, but it frightens the life out of me using those lol

Hopefully all of this is now coming to an end as the stock gets acquired by the bidders and other market participants.

Lot of existing options are now way out of the money at least for now, they do have long vesting periods.

The new board appointment does give hope, more aligned with shareholders being one himself.

I understand the need to incentivise people but issuing them with a strike price now seems unfair, also how much these performance based options are linked to the share price ?

No wonder management don't spend their own money on supporting the company.

Only upside for shareholders is the market purchases which might help support the share price.

The only one missing is Tosca who is pally with Griffiths especially on M A stuff.

thanks Jatw, I'll update my shareholder list accordingly, as mentioned the warrants are listed but the strike price seems low, page 59 of this year AR.

Some of these notices are 'Opening Position Disclosure following the commencement of the offer period', which I think Griffiths falls under, the box at the bottom where it states shares bought or sold is usually the best guide, Griffiths just seems to have settled some CFD's for cash.

The market just doesn't see it that way, without these two approaches being made public on Friday shareholders would be sitting here looking at Blackrock, Voloen increasing short positions -

Now, we have those positions being reversed plus existing holders such as Jupiter increasing, plus the obvious 25% rise which is welcome also.

Appreciate many are focused on the buy out price and previous valuations at IPO, but this may not be as important if indeed a friendly offer is tabled.

The large majority of shareholders who roll their holding into a private vehicle could take a paper loss once the take over price is agreed (if lower than say IPO price), but this would only be temporary until such time as the company or it's divisions are re-floated - in essence go back to seed capital partners as pre-IPO

In order o get the vote to go through you would only have to appease a relatively small number of holders to avoid blocking the majority vote, now it starts to make real sense as those loyal to the company would not materially lose long term.
