Bit of a long shot but can and does happen. We know from monthly Crest data there is almost 7% out on loan but no visibility as to which shareholder/s are lending out their stock.

Some time ago I checked with various brokers to see which ones lend out customers stock, most to be fair don't or did prior to having problems getting the stock returned on demand. It's a while since, so worth checking with your own broker especially if they offer derivatives products, CFD's and so on.

Anyway, back to the title of this thread what does Jupiter have to do with a short squeeze, well put simply if they were the only institution lending stock and are now selling/sold the underlying position it would result in the stock being called in, if no one else is prepared to fill the gap it creates a short squeeze as nearly 7% of the issued shares have to be re-purchased.

Most of the know lenders of stock such as Blackrock no longer hold significant positions which leaves those appearing on Rule 8 notices.

Its anyone's guess who could be lending stock, many are deeply underwater.

Agree in part London, but from my own direct experience its very difficult for companies to support their share price other than with market share purchases, Mike Ashley's group would be a good example here.

Distressed selling of course happens when many others are looking to maintain capital ratios perhaps ahead of further falls, the domino effect was seen very clearly during the 2008 banking meltdown.

Both you guys come across as genuine people hence me reaching out, I almost share your pain having been there many times myself.

What appears to be happening is those companies which are state owned or with a controlling interest are voluntarily de-listing, it makes it a lot easier for the rest to comply.

Switching to a US audit firm should help matters no end.

Grim markets for sure but not everything tanked, example Ulta down 1.87% and still at all time high. My own view is there will be winners and losers, those with the most efficient business model will emerge stronger and leaner with greater market share.

High energy costs and not going to help brocks and mortar operations, gone are the days of installing huge fan heaters right by the entrance, internal shop lighting will also be under consideration as will opening hours.

All of this points to more a more centralised distribution hub at scale, aka DTC - I expect to see the onboarding to Ingenuity pick-up as these and other factors (wage inflation) pick up, automation is the way to go.

Cheers 2phevs, portfolio value can increase/decrease but the percentage holding of each company within should remain the same provided no sells/purchases.

I did notice today Jupiter continuing with their sales of Ascential PLC. This on the surface looks like good news as a TR1 is not required, some companies however choose to signal to the market when they have stopped selling by issuing a voluntary notice.

It may well be they have raised enough capital.
