Their biggest market is Brazil and its performing badly
Does it become a bid target under 50P?
TOOK SOME PROFITS TODAY AND SOLD 2/3 OF HOLDING AS THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO FALL BACK FROM 400 LEVEL. TIME WILL TELL IF I WAS RIGHT BUT I SUSPECT A RUSSIAN /UKRAINE CRISIS IS COMING ALONG WITH A SHORT DOWNWARD MARKET CORRECTION
I sold my 19000 today for a tidy profit as I agree with fleccy/IC
Nothing wrong with that as long as new managment can generate new orders on a profitable basis. Problem is demand is low in the offshore rig market and Lamprell have a high cost base. I suspect this lot will fudge the issue and take rigs on at marginal profit levels which means one technical problem or slowdown and they will be announcing contract losses. At one time in the 80 price range I saw tthis moving quickly back to 400 plus. Not any more. I now think it will struggle to get to the 180s even with new rig contracts in the 100s of millions announced. Hope Im wrong and it does better because I have this share in my SIPP
commercia et al. If you cannot see the signs of leaking managment and refer to press releases as assumed accurate news then god help you and your supposed saviness.I have bought and sold Lamprell for considerable profits over the last 4 years. This latest managment is no better than the last lot of tim nice but dims and prices always seem to move significantly prior to announcements
Both. Did you see the jump pre results a while ago when this managment team obviously leaked that they had returned to profit and then the drop as the full story and lack of orders came out.
Nice tidy dividend. Whats the yield- about 4%?
New profitable orders = price rise. No new orders = price decline. The company leaks like a seive with its news and the managments word cannot be relied upon so watch out for false/misleading statements that generate a modest rise and then a big fall when the real news is known.
Since when do people have any say in being a takeover target? A good question for Vodafone? The whole telecoms area is in play- like it or not with all the Verizon Cash and ATT on the lookout
Xenophobic American regulators love to Hammer foreign companies. They are nearly as big a group of bullies as Putin. Its hardly the Home of Democracy. Its a bank bashing bunch of befuddled boys
