At around that pre marathon deal 600p range the company was trading at around a 30% premium to unrestricted cash with folks getting bored waiting to deploy that cash on an acquisition ... right now we are trading at around a 10% premium to unrestricted cash in a similar position... only now we are waiting for a potentially significant step up in scale of acquisition (s).

So fair to say it could be representing even better value right now at £20 than 12 months ago at £6 ?

I think the ii sellers have been done for a while now Dana... all appear to be balanced. I think a lot of recent selling has been PIs re-balancing and even traders getting bored.

can't say I wasn't thinking the same MT ... extreme boredom at £6 range then a 35% move before deal lands.

thanks Dana, it had crossed my mind a while ago too as it goes. I would not be at all surprised if there has been some contact with PMG. There may well be some details where extra potential value can be unlocked and I expect the operator status may also be attractive.
