Class action27 May 2026 15:51
My understanding of a Class Action in these circumstances is the participants will be able to submit claims for quantifiable losses only i.e. reasonable overnight accomodation costs, food, transport etc. They would not be able to claim for inconvenance or distress. And since there was no reported spillage, fire or gas release there should not be any injury costs. Of course the local and federal authorities may impose another fine if that proves be an appropriate course if action. And one last thought is if GKN where found to have been been negligant then any Insurance may be void. So in the worst case I dont see any punative damages being awarded but fines and legitimate class action cists would be in the low millions ($10M+) and not billions ..... just my thoughts, not gospel truth.
