The revised National Planning Policy Framework, published yesterday, requires English councils to recognise what are described as the benefits of onshore hydrocarbons, including shale gas, for energy security and transition to a low carbon economy.

Councils are also required to “put in place policies to facilitate their [onshore hydrocarbons] exploration and extraction” and “plan positively for them”.

Councils will find the full weight of the law applied if they are too obvious in delaying testing and pro------
What am I saying, the only thing that will work is drilling and transporting the oil completely hidden from view.

111baker - don't understand your post. You have been pro Gunsynd, yet your post appears negative. Is it too early in the morning for me to understand your point?

You are a regular and informed poster so here is the full reason, I posted this as a joke but with a serious purpose--Have you wondered why the Major oil companies have shown no interest yet in the Weald? Could it be they share the doubts about the finds, not the wheels up or fracking nonsense, but the validity long term of old wells producing, new methods or no, also they feel that the kimmeridge can be disturbed by the actions of the drill giving a limited amount of oil.
Now the CEO`s are experienced people, not novices, and I am sure the finds are genuine and will be a game changer for the UK, but the majors have to be cautious, and the first one to show an interest [and TOTAL is already invested-thru Tellurian-some 4% of HH] will release the floodgate and we will have a bidding war.
But only after a thorough testing of the Kimmeridge levels.

In 2016 I read about the Gatwick Gusher, now everyone knows that a well left for some time gathers a pool of oil, when that pool is sucked out it reverts to a trickle of oil. they tested for a few days, and shouted they had game changer-- how I laughed. Then last week, again after a few days they shout OIL-lots of it! and pictures of tankers going in with some wheels up and coming out with all wheels down, call me cynical, but how easy is it to lower the wheels on an empty tanker. All this talk of the kimmeridge levels, everyone knows it would only produce oil if you fracture the rock,`fracking`, illegal at shallow depths, but if they fiddle the tanker wheels-but I say no more in case Mr Lenigas is watching.
Now I suppose they seek a wealthy partner to develop the Weald [none of them has a pot to p in, poor as church mice] all I can say is dont call me!

Angus Energy is the only company with production licences. They sold their HH shares but thru Doriemus HH have access to these producing fields:

Doriemos Plc has a participating interest in the Lidsey Oilfield (“Lidsey”) in West Sussex

Doriemus Plc has acquired an initial participating 10% in United Kingdom Production Licence

The Brockham Oil Field is located on licence PL235 in Surrey, southern England. The field
was discovered by BP in 1987 with the drilling of the Brockham-X1 well. The field currently
has average daily production of approximately 35 bopd from the Brockham field. Both are ANGUS coys.

Thus by placing all Weald players under the banner of ANGUS they only need an extension to producing, and if the octopus pads are hidden and spread thinly thru the Weald, with pipes to a railway [and at least one well is but one field from a line] so there will be no tankers disturbing the leafy lanes and villages.

Angus have wells awaiting testing permissions and could be bigger than UKOG, no matter, the major company [TOTAL?- because it owns 23% of Tellurian, which owns 35% of HH ] would fund by bank loans rather than by share dilution, loans which would quickly be paid off -- the Portland at HH has been on full flow for several hours, with the Kimmeridge to follow, and it does flow at Lidsey some way away in the weald.

The North sea fields were sold off by the govt of the day and we have been paying the Norwegians double for our oil since.
Onshore drilling costs much less and setting it up as described is well within the resources of a major.
All the buy out, take over and reverse take overs will all take time, but we know now the oil is there-- hold on or buy always be wary of the rampers in full flow- a buy out will be at sensible levels not pie in the sky valuations.

I am a DL fan, and believe he is behind the promotion of the Weald as a place which can strengthen the pound hopefully in time for my next USA holiday. Weekending in Blackwood near Winchester I found no evidence of new housing estates being built, in N Essex near Frinton there are several being built against local opposition.
There was bite in my Cream of England comment-- they have powerful interests in parliament keeping their patch unspoilt.
All Weald players will benefit if a major gathers them together- and I suspect DL in active in this endeavour, which is why my posts are spread over the weald players, promoting not ramping.
