Yourgene to process tests at lab as part of MyHealthChecked Boots deal

(Alliance News) - Yourgene Health PLC on Monday said that is due to process diagnostic tests at its laboratory in Manchester, as part of a deal signed by its partner, MyHealthChecked PLC, with Boots UK Ltd.

Yourgene is a Manchester, England-based molecular diagnostic group, while MyHealthChecked is a consumer home-testing healthcare company.

Last Friday, MyHealthChecked PLC said it had signed an agreement via its subsidiary, Concepta Diagnostics Ltd, to launch its extended range of products with Boots UK.

Yourgene told investors on Monday that, according to the service agreement, five out of the 14 tests that MyHealthChecked are launching via Boots will be processed by Yourgene Genomic Services at its accredited laboratory in Manchester.

"We would like to congratulate our partner MyHealthChecked on their retail launch with Boots of their extended product portfolio, which demonstrates execution of the next step of their strategic plan. Yourgene is proud to continue to support MyHealthChecked with our state-of-the-art laboratory and the contract is a testament to the quality of the service we provide," said Chief Executive Office Lyn Rees.

Separately, Yourgene said it has reappointed Chief Scientific Officer Joanne Mason as a director of the company with immediate effect.

"Given Dr Mason's background and experience in this field, she is playing an increasingly pivotal role for the company in highlighting the technical benefits of the company's offerings to potential and existing customers, and her expertise provides an important complement to the skills and understanding of the wider board," Yourgene said.

Yourgene shares were trading 1.8% higher at 0.21 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.
