Vodafone Buys EUR1.5 Billion Loan Notes After Tender Offer

LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 100-listed telecommunications firm Vodafone Group PLC said Thursday it would purchase EUR1.50 billion in loan notes after closing a tender offer launched last week.

Last Tuesday, Vodafone launched the offer to holders of the EUR1.62 billion outstanding on its EUR1.75 billion 1.000% notes due September 2020, the EUR697.6 million outstanding on its EUR750.0 million 0.875% notes due November 2020, and EUR1.25 billion outstanding on its EUR1.25 billion 1.250% noted due August 2021.

At the time, Vodafone explained the purpose of the tender offer was to extend the debt maturity profile for the firm.

The tender offer closed on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Vodafone said it would purchase EUR706.3 million of its September 2020 notes, EUR266.3 million of its November 2020 notes and EUR498.4 million of its August 2021 notes.

Vodafone expects to settle the purchases on Friday.

Following the purchase, there will be EUR955.8 million outstanding on the September 2020 notes, EUR431.3 million on its November 2020 notes and EUR751.6 million on its August 2021 notes.

Shares in Vodafone were 0.6% higher at 130.05 pence on Thursday.
