Vodafone brings former Metro CEO Olaf Koch to board

(Alliance News) - Vodafone Group PLC on Friday announced the appointment of Olaf Koch to its board, subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming annual general meeting.

The Berkshire, England-based telecommunications provider noted that Koch was the chief executive officer of Dusseldorf, Germany-based cash-and-carry store operator Metro AG from 2012 to 2021.

His appointment will be effective following the conclusion of Vodafone's AGM on July 28.

Vodafone Chair Jean-Francois van Boxmeer said: "I am delighted to welcome Olaf Koch to Vodafone's board. His extensive experience of leading complex transformations and deep knowledge of the German market will be a valuable addition as the group continues to execute its strategy."

Vodafone shares fell 2.8% to 112.80 pence each on Friday morning in London.
