May 7 (Reuters) - The United States has extended a license allowing BP to continue to operate its Shah Deniz natural gas field in Azerbaijan with Iranian and Russian partners, the company said on Thursday.
"BP always seeks to comply with applicable sanctions, laws and regulations. The licenses you referenced have been extended. Shah Deniz remains compliant with sanctions," the company said in an emailed statement.
Bloomberg was first to report on the license extension. (Reporting by Richard Valdmanis, Editing by Louise Heavens)
