HOUSTON, May 12 (Reuters) - Operation of several units wasslowed on Saturday at BP Plc's 225,000 barrel per day(bpd) Cherry Point, Washington, refinery after a heater failedon a sulfur unit, according to a notice the refinery filed withU.S. pollution regulators.

If the inline heater on the sulfur plant cannot be returnedto operation, the refinery may have to cut throughput, accordingto the notice filed with the U.S. National Response Center.
