UK regulator sues crypto exchange HTX over illegal promotions

LONDON, Feb ⁠10 - ‌Britain's Financial ⁠Conduct Authority said on ‍Tuesday it ‍had begun legal proceedings against ⁠global crypto exchange HTX, formerly known ​as Huobi, for illegally promoting cryptoasset services ‍to British ‌consumers.

The FCA said HTX had ‌repeatedly issued illegal crypto promotions to British ‌consumers despite prior ​warnings, including ads posted on its website ⁠and ‍social media platforms. (Reporting by ​Muvija M, ⁠writing by Sam Tabahriti, editing by William James)
