Tekcapital says MicroSalt listed on Amazon UK for distribution

(Alliance News) - Tekcapital PLC on Tuesday said its MicroSalt low-sodium shakers will be sold on the Amazon UK platform.

The London-based intellectual property investment company said it has also established a local distribution network with Reliable Express in Southampton, which includes the storage and distribution of its bulk packed products within the UK and Europe.

MicroSalt's patent protected, and scalable manufacturing process produces salt crystals about 100 times smaller than those in traditional salt.

"Inclusion of our low sodium solutions on the Amazon shopping platform is key to our efforts to make MicroSalt readily available to meet the demand of our [business-to-consumer] customers. Additionally, our partnership with Reliable Express in the UK is a vital piece of our growing distribution network, as it will allow us to reliably and efficiently service food manufacturing channels in both the UK and EU," said MicroSalt Chief Executive Officer Rick Guiney.

According to Tekcapital, excess sodium consumption is one of the leading contributors to hypertension and heart disease.

"Now MicroSalt will be available to help consumers in the UK and Europe enjoy great tasting, healthy products with less sodium," added Guiney.

Tekcapital holds an 87% share of London-based MicroSalt PLC, and 92% of its US subsidiary, MicroSalt Inc.

Shares in Tekcapital were up 3.2% at 8.00 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
