Synergia Energy says Cambay C-77H workover proceeding as expected

Wed, 26th Jul 2023 12:27

(Alliance News) - Synergia Energy Ltd on Wednesday said workover operations at the Cambay C-77H well in Gujarat, India have proceeded according to expectations.

The India-focused developer of natural gas assets said Cambay C-77H workover operations began on July 15 when the well was "killed" prior to the removal of the production tubing.

This was followed by the milling out of the bridge plug that had isolated the original four fracked zones from the two re-frac zones above the bridge plug, Synergia Energy explained.

It said the production tubing was then re-inserted and flow back of the kill fluid commenced.

Due to the presence of an extensive column of condensate in the wellbore, Synergia Energy said nitrogen lift was employed to assist with the flow back.

Synergia said the workover rig was redeployed to the C-19z well on Monday for a minor de-waxing workover.

The company explained the Cambay C-77H will be flowed for a period to satisfy the request of the Indian Directorate of Hydrocarbons to establish a baseline of production without artificial lift.

"Over the coming weeks, the well performance will be observed after flow rates have stabilised," the company explained.

"Following the establishment of the baseline of production, the workover rig will be re-deployed over the C-77H well for the installation of the jet pump artificial lift system."

Synergia Energy said a jet pump installation for Cambay C-77H is scheduled for mid-August.

Shares in Synergia Energy traded flat at 0.12 pence each in London by Wednesday afternoon.
