LONDON (Alliance News) - SOCO International PLC said Thursday it has hired Anya Weaving as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective May 1, 2014.
Weaving joins the company from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where she was a Managing Director in Mergers and Acquisitions, responsible for the oil and gas sector.
In the role she advised clients across the sector, including SOCO; she originally advised on the sale of SOCO's Yemen assets in 2008, and subsequently on the sale of the firms' Thailand assets and the buyout of the minority partner in SOCO's Vietnam subsidiary, said the company.
The international oil and gas exploration and production firm said Roger Cagle will continue in his role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and executive director on the board.
Ed Story, Chief Executive of the company said, "We have gotten to know Anya well over the years as a trusted advisor and we are delighted that she is joining SOCO. I am confident that with her expertise, wide-ranging industry experience and personal energy Anya will be a great addition to our team."
Shares in SOCO last traded at 397.7 pence per share.
