LONDON, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Shell plans to begin a major shutdown for maintenance at its 404,000 barrel per day Pernis oil refinery in Rotterdam from mid-September, according to a statement on the refinery's official X account.
Pernis is Europe's largest oil refinery.
"From mid-September it is time again for a very large maintenance stop at Shell Pernis," Frits Hoogerwerf from the refinery's turnaround team said in an accompanying video.
He said the maintenance shutdown was expected to be completed in November.
Reuters contacted Shell for further details on the units involved in the shutdown. (Reporting by Ahmad Ghaddar and Seher Dareen in London and Bart Meijer in Amsterdam Editing by Bernadette Baum)
