Sector movers: Mining stocks bounce back

Mining stocks are going well as they recover from some hefty losses yesterday.Platinum miner Lonmin, one of the FTSE 100's worst performers yesterday, is near the top today.Sticking with precious commodities, Petra Diamonds moves higher after saying output increased five fold to over 1m carats though sales declined and trading conditions remained challenging. Tobacco stocks have been moving in the opposite direction to the mining sector. They were wanted yesterday for their defensive qualities, but are out of favour today as traders seek more adventurous stocks.
