REFILE-UK economy grew by better-than-expected 0.5% in three months to February

LONDON, April ​16 (Reuters) - ‌Britain's economy ⁠grew by a better-than-expected ⁠0.5% in ​the three months to February, official figures ​showed ‌on Thursday.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast ​0.2% growth in gross ‌domestic product for the December-February ‌period compared with the previous three months.

In February ​alone, the economy grew ‌by 0.5%, the Office for National Statistics ⁠said, ⁠against expectations ‌for a 0.1% increase. (Reporting by ​Andy ​Bruce ‌and Suban Abdulla; Editing by William James and Muvija M)
