(Sharecast News) - Facilities support services company RA International has been awarded a "significant" new integrated facilities management contract with the US government.
RA International will provide comprehensive life support and maintenance services for the United States Agency for International Development at one of its compounds in East Africa and the US Embassy over an initial two-year period, with the option for two one-year extensions.

The AIM-listed group stated the contract value, including the option years and incentives, was $21.5m and would commence in June.

Chief executive Soraya Narfeldt said: "We are delighted to announce this landmark contract which sees us working directly with USAID. This contract is a great example of the type of work we do, delivering integrated services to international standards in challenging and dynamic locations and, through the strength of our reputation, we are broadening our customer base and are winning larger contracts.

"As we announce this important contract win, it is worth highlighting to shareholders we continue to be very encouraged by our business development activity, both the number and value of new contracts we are discussing."

As of 1040 BST, RA International shares were up 6.28% at 49.95p.
