Online Blockchain Says Crypto Asset Claiming Website Making Gains

Mon, 05th Oct 2020 11:35

(Alliance News) - Online Blockchain PLC on Monday said its crypto asset claiming website FreeFaucet.io is seeing "strong" growth and has hit key global web rankings.

FreeFaucet.io has surpassed 100,000 users and entered the top 10,000 global sites on traffic rankings site Alexa within 18 months of its beta launch.

Online Blockchain said its paid to click advert faucets, or PTC faucets, are receiving particularly high traffic. PTC faucets are a tool for marketers who wish to directly promote projects to an engaged, tech-savvy audience.

Users of the cryptocurrency hub are rewarded with Bitcoin for clicking a PTC Faucet and engaging with the featured website for a short, specified period of time.

The company said PTC faucets were one of many ways users can claim crypto assets for free, ranging from participating in surveys to signing up to subscription services like Amazon Prime Video.

Online Blockchain Chief Executive Clem Chambers said: "FreeFaucet's business model is predominantly based on advertising revenue. However, it is unique in that it reverses the thermodynamics of money by giving revenue from its advertisers back to its users.

"Media consumers are starting to be viewed as the ultimate asset and beginning to be paid accordingly. FreeFaucet.io is at the forefront of this new wave of content incentivisation, which is evident from the site's growth to date."

Online Blockchain shares were up 8.8% at 18.50 pence each in London on Monday.
