OMG's security divison secures second contract with UK MOD

Wed, 09th Jul 2014 11:12
Energy group OMG has strengthened its streaming data intelligence after signing a second contract with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). The partnership is between OMG's defence and security division, 2d3 Sensing, and the MoD's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory Centre for Defence Enterprise and is aiming to develop technology that will improve the efficiency of managing streaming data intelligence. The initial phase of the project, which was completed in 2013, included the development of a streaming data intelligence library standard and was proven to be more efficient than the standard prototype. The second phase, which is expected to run until September 2015, will be focused on advancing both the concept and the technology. Chief Executive Officer Nick Bolton said: "The work we are undertaking in partnership with them is a testament not only to the strength of 2d3's working relationship, but also speaks to the strength of our expertise in bringing our innovative technology to bear." As of 10:21 the share price had risen 6.48% to 28p.WS Oxford Metrics
