Shares in Timestrip were soaring for the second day this week after the maker of labels which show how long containers have been open said an NHS Trust would be using its technology to show how long intravenous drips have been in place. The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust has become the first NHS Trust to adopt Timestrip's 'Timestrip IV' fully into its protocol for monitoring how long Peripheral Intravenous Cannulae (PVCs) have been in place.According to Timestrip, more than 60% of cases of the notorious infection MRSA are caused by PVCs. It said that treating MRSA is estimated to cost £1bn a year.Timestrip IV is being used and trialled by more than 25 other NHS hospitals, the company said. The announcement comes two days after shares in Timestrip were boosted by the firm saying it had received its first order to supply its products to the US medical device sector. It said it could not disclose the nature of the device or the identity of the customer. Time Finance
