Michelmersh Brick Set To Beat Market View With Strong Second Half

Mon, 19th Oct 2015 06:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Michelmersh Brick Holdings PLC on Monday said trading in the second half of the year has been better than expected, leaving it set to beat market expectations for 2015 pretax profit.

The Hampshire-based company, which makes bricks, said its trading performance in the second half of 2015 has been better than previously anticipated, driven by operating efficiencies, continued low energy costs, and by additional capacity from its Freshfield Lane site.

Delivery volumes have been slightly weaker than expected, the company said, due to market softness, but average selling prices have offset this.

As a result, the company said it now expects its pretax profit for the full year 2015 will come in ahead of market forecasts.
