KKR's ContourGlobal launches solar-plus-storage project in Chile

MILAN, May ​27 (Reuters) - ContourGlobal, ⁠a clean ​energy company owned by KKR, ​on ‌Wednesday announced the ⁠start of operations at ⁠a large-scale ​solar-plus-storage project in Chile.

* The facility combines photovoltaic ​generation ‌with a battery energy storage system capable of delivering ​200 megawatts of solar ‌power for up to 6.5 hours ‌after sunset.

* It is one of the ​longest-duration battery energy storage systems at ‌utility scale globally and the longest in ⁠Latin America.
