Irish data protection agency launches inquiry into Shein Ireland

LONDON, May ​5 (Reuters) - ⁠Ireland's Data ​Protection Commission on Tuesday launched ​an ‌inquiry into ⁠Shein Ireland concerning the ⁠company's transfers ​of personal data from those within the ​European ‌Union to China.

The DPC will examine and ​assess the extent ‌to which Shein Ireland has complied ‌with its relevant obligations under the EU privacy ​rules - known as the ‌General Data Protection Regulation - in relation ⁠to ⁠these transfers, ‌it said in a ​statement.
