IN BRIEF: Checkit wins GBP2.8 million contract in US with Grifols

Checkit PLC - Cambridge-based workflow management software provider - Signs contract with Biomat USA Inc, a subsidiary of Grifols SA for minimum total value of GBP2.8 million over three years. Checkit will provide services to over 300 sites, extending its US footprint to five Grifols subsidiaries initially. Some 12% of the contract value represents the renewal of existing business with Grifols, with 88% representing new and additional business.

Grifols is a producer of plasma-derived medicine and transfusion medicine, with headquarters in Barcelona, Spain and 350 plasma centres worldwide. Checkit says it is in the advanced stages of discussions about use of its platform in Grifols's key European countries. The software provided has already signed a separate three-year contract to provide services in 10 of Grifols's upcoming 20 plasma centres in Egypt.

Current stock price: 45.65 pence, up 4.9% on Tuesday

12-month change: down 6.8%
