Blancco Technology Group PLC - data security company - Says it has achieved carbon neutrality by offsetting its 2021 Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions. With support from Avieco, an environmental consultancy, Blancco has offset its entire 2021 carbon footprint through investment in two renewable wind energy projects in Gujarat, India.
Going forward, the company plans to reduce its carbon emissions on an annual basis and will continually review its decarbonisation plan.
Chief Executive Matt Jones comments: "Becoming a carbon neutral business is a major step forward in Blancco's sustainability journey and we have invested in highly reputable carbon credits to help achieve this.
"We recognise that offsets are not a long-term solution and that action to address climate change must come from widespread decarbonisation. This is why we're committed to undertaking multiple initiatives to further reduce our own carbon footprint as we take greater accountability for our actions and choices on a day to day basis," Jones adds.
