FTSE 250 movers: Miners under the cosh as precious metals prices fall

(Sharecast News) - FTSE 250 (MCX) 23,294.77 0.11%

Miners were under the cosh as gold and silver prices fell amid volatile trade and a slightly stronger dollar.

Hochschild, Endeavour, Pan African Resources and Blackrock Mining Trust all tumbled as gold slid to just over $5,000 an ounce, while silver plunged 11.47% to fall below $100.

Watches of Switzerland gained as major brand Swatch forecast strong growth this year despite a fall in profits.
