FTSE 100 movers: ICAP surges nearly 7%

ICAP was the high riser of the day, gaining nearly 7% as of 15:18 on Wednesday afternoon. Shares in the world's largest interdealer broker were trading 31.4p higher at 467.9p, attempting to recover from its performance over the year to date. In mid-January, the share price was around the 560p level.Antofagasta led the miners higher as metals prices continue to rise. Copper, gold and silver futures were 1.7%, 0.3% and 1.5% up, respectively.Eurasian Natural Resources Corp, Kazakhmys and Xstrata were also in demand.Meanwhile, the retailers were unwanted, with Marks & Spencer, Kingfisher and Next among the worst performers.Pharmaceuticals giant Shire edged higher as Panmure Gordon hiked its target price on the stock by 25% after increasing its forecasts for its Firazyr drug following its recommended approval by US regulators. It has been a busy June for new orders for Rolls-Royce but the month is not over yet and the power systems developer has managed to squeeze in another contract win, this time from Singapore Airlines.
