Frontier IP portfolio company Dekiln teams with Johnson Tiles

Tue, 26th May 2026 13:05

(Alliance News) - Frontier IP Group PLC on Tuesday said investee Dekiln Ltd has partnered with Cheshire, England-based designer and supplier of ceramic and porcelain tiles, Johnson Tiles Ltd.

London-based Frontier IP is focused on commercialising intellectual property.

The company said the two firms have inked a memorandum of understanding to create a strategic partnership focused on the scale-up, manufacture and commercialisation of Dekiln's kiln-free, low-energy bio-based materials as ceramic alternatives.

Frontier IP holds a 24.8% equity stake in Dekiln.

Frontier explained that the collaboration seeks to accelerate commercialisation of Dekiln's proprietary processes and materials in the UK and beyond, "by combining them with Johnson Tiles' manufacturing expertise, market access and sector leadership".

Under the collaboration, Johnson Tiles will support Dekiln in the creation of a demonstration manufacturing plant, with this set to be located in Stoke-on-Trent, noted Frontier IP.

Shares in Frontier IP were down 3.0% at 16.00 pence on Tuesday afternoon in London

"Dekiln's groundbreaking technology has strong potential. Johnson Tiles' interest in forging a strategic partnership provides further validation of that," said Frontier IP Chief Executive Neil Crabb.
