Enterprise Inns FD sets retirement date

Enterprise Inns finance director David George has called time on his career at the tenanted pub group after 20 years.George hands over to 45-year-old Neil Smith, currently finance boss for the UK & Ireland at catering giant Compass, on 20 January, but will join at the start of 2011 as CFO designate.Smith has been at Compass since 2007 and has held senior posts at NTL Inc, Telewest Global Inc and Somerfield."David has played a key role and has been central to the growth of Enterprise Inns since he joined the company at its formation in 1991," said Enterprise chairman Hubert Reid. "As a result of the successful refinancing of our bank facilities in May, we have secured our medium-term financing requirements and it is now an opportune time for a successor to be appointed."
