May 12 (Reuters) - Bulgaria's state gas supplier Bulgargaz has selected Shell as the winner of a tender to deliver one cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG), the company said on Tuesday.
Five companies submitted bids in the tender to supply about 1 million megawatt hours (MWh) of LNG for delivery in Turkey, Bulgargaz added.
The cargo will be loaded in the United States and is expected to arrive at the end of May, with the LNG to be used to meet demand during the summer, Bulgargaz said.
The gas will be imported using Bulgargaz's agreement with Turkish state operator BOTAS, which grants Bulgaria access to Turkish gas storage capacity and gas pipelines.
