British retailer Co-op swings to a loss on cyber attack, rising costs

LONDON, March ​26 (Reuters) - ⁠Co-op, which ​runs grocery stores in Britain ​as ‌well as ⁠funeral-related services, swung to ⁠an annual ​loss for 2025, hit by a ​cyber ‌attack and the impact of higher employment ​costs.

The group, which ‌is owned by its 6.2 ‌million members and trades from more than 2,500 ​stores, reported an underlying operating ‌loss of 35 million pounds ($47 ⁠million) ⁠on revenues which ‌fell 2.3% to 11 ​billion ​pounds. ($1 = ‌0.7482 pounds) (Reporting by Sarah Young; Editing by Kate Holton)
