Barclays says CEO has completed treatment for cancer

LONDON, March 3 (Reuters) - British bank Barclays said on Friday that its chief executive C.S. Venkatakrishnan has completed treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of cancer, and is now in remission.

"I am pleased to inform you that I have completed the treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma that I commenced last November. I am now in remission (no evidence of disease)," Venkatakrishnan told colleagues in a letter, according to a company statement.

"Over the coming weeks, I plan to be working more from the office, and ultimately resuming travel." (Reporting by Iain Withers; editing by Jason Neely)
