Barclays Is Cooperating With US Dark Pool Probe, Says Barclays Chief

Thu, 22nd Jan 2015 14:23

LONDON (Alliance News) - Barclays PLC is cooperating with a probe into its dark pool, Chief Executive Antony Jenkins said on Thursday, after reports that New York's Attorney General has accused the bank of defying subpoenas in a probe of its dark pool.

According to a Reuters report published on Wednesday, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has said the bank's electronic trading chief, William White, and head of product development, David Johnsen, have not been allowed to answer his questions.

"Our position is always to cooperate with the regulatory agencies. We believe we have been co-operating. As you know, we have robustly responded to the allegations made against us. That's going through the courts, and this is the next phase of that," Jenkins said in a television interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos Thursday.
