AFC Energy joins Hydrogen Council as supporting member

(Sharecast News) - Industrial fuel cell power company AFC Energy has been invited to join the Hydrogen Council as a supporting member, it announced on Wednesday.The AIM-traded firm said its chief executive officer Adam Bond would be attending the council's third annual CEO event in San Francisco on 13 September.It said the CEO coalition for hydrogen technologies was welcoming an additional 14 members - a second major wave of growth this year.Eight companies were joining the group at steering member level - Airbus, Air Products, Cummins, EDF, Johnson Matthey, KOGAS, SINOPEC and thyssenkrupp, with six members joining at supporting level, including AFC Energy, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Re-Fire Technology, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Sumitomo Corporation, and SoCalGas.In addition, Faurecia was upgrading its membership to steering level.As a result, the Hydrogen Council now included 52 companies, accounting for 3.8 million jobs and €1.8trn in revenue from across 11 different countries.The group had more than quadrupled in size since launching at the World Economic Forum 18 months ago."I am delighted that AFC Energy is joining the Hydrogen Council, supporting what represents a first-of-its-kind global CEO initiative to foster the role of hydrogen technologies in the global energy transition to a sustainable, cleaner future," said chief executive officer Adam Bond."AFC Energy looks forward to working alongside so many of our industry leading partners."
