Westmount Energy Ltd - South America-focused energy investor - Purchases 287,500 shares in JHI Associates Inc at a cost of CAD718,750, or GBP415,166. Says it holds a total of 5.7 million shares in JHI following the purchase, representing approximately 7.7% of the issued shares. Notes JHI's main asset is an 18% interest in the Canje Block, offshore Guyana.
"This investment is consistent with Westmount's strategy of seeking exposure to opportunities in the prolific Guyana-Suriname Basin, which the board considers to be a major emerging hydrocarbon province," says Westmount.
